week 5

In the fifth week we mentioned "the student centered learning" which speaks about the three theories of learning which are: Behaviorism, Congnitivism and Constructivism. I learned all these theories before when I was studying psychology at the Emirates University. But we always forget very important information because we're busy with other things which attract our concentration. Today I remembered important things about these theories and how I can use them all in teaching, developing myself as a teacher and improving the different levels of my students, as I will be able to choose the subject and the suitable theory to use.
Sometimes the constructivism is suitable for some lessons, where my role as a teacher will be easy and learning will be centered about the student. In such case the student will work, search, analyze, discover and get the required information so I'll help and direct him.
In some lessons I'll use the congnitivism which gives the student the information that needs understanding and memorizing.
Through my knowledge of the three theories I can face some hard situations as answering a question I was not ready for it.
As for using the student centered learning system, I can give students sites to search through the net and guide them to the easiest ways to get the information.
Now, With the computer and the internet, we can use the constructivism theory which is the easiest way for the subject planning I need to teach the lesson in a better and easier way.

Good thoughts today, I am glad you could remember about those theories. For some people it was all new and they had some difficulty with it.
